ECLYPSE INVITES: W1GOSS

For the 42nd episode of the ECLYPSE INVITES Podcast series we present you with another very young and talented artist who, despite the age, has been able to craft amazing tracks that will shake your guts for how deep and strong they are. He’s made a name for himself with some awesome production for Dolium and we can’t wait to see what the future holds. Welcome w1goss!

ECLYPSE: What is your name, age, and where are you from?

My name is Bogdan, I’m 18 years old and I’m from Ukraine but I’m currently living in Munich, Germany

New Town Hall in Munich

ECLYPSE: Why “w1goss”?

My name was created back in 2018 when I began my journey as a DJ, and I was writing rap instrumentals (beats). w1goss- has no special meaning, I’ve liked it since the beginning so I sticked to it and now it’s the name under which I position myself in the vastness of the music industry

ECLYPSE: What inspired you to produce and DJ and when did you start?

From an early age I was familiar with electronic music and artists such as Skrillex, Deadmau5, Jack Ü, and also had some interest in creating art. I was inspired mainly by imagining how cool it would feel to direct the sound for the crowd at performances.

Since I came to Germany due to the war I had been wondering what kind of art Munich reflect the city’s identity so went to my first rave and there were DJs like Warfare andJesus_lebt. They made me fall in love with such mysterious tunes by letting me feel the darkness and hardness in these punching sounds. It was like activating my inner “beast mode”

ECLYPSE: Who are the Producers and DJs you are looking the most up to?

I am very attracted to the music that is written in the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States, an area that includes Russia and some of the countries that obtained independence after the collapes of Soviet Union). People there have great potential and are able to turn a lot of their ideas into audio files. The very massive crafts of such DJs makes our world understand how dark and hard sound can be. I also cannot help but mention the producers from Europe, they are a new industrial generation and are full of very bright ideas, who also motivate me to continue to be on the techno scene.

Some of the artists I admire the most are: WARFARE, ANUSREKTUM, DJ SUPER, DJ VLADIMIR, ISOTRYK , AHIRZAMAN , DRAAG, PAYN, BONEK, KAZAHSTAN NOSE SHIFTERS

ECLYPSE: What are your expectations for 2025?

2025 is expected to bring many releases and podcasts both for music platforms and dance floors. I would really like to promote myself and play in different places on our planet.

ECLYPSE: Do you think Techno as a genre has evolved in the past years?

Techno as a genre has evolved a lot in recent years, there is definitely more music and the community is getting bigger. This brings popularization and new ideas. Nowadays, there are countless subgenres of techno and I believe that it will only develop and become stronger

ECLYPSE: How is your local DJ scene?

In my land techno culture is very developed, everyone here is trying to show something new to people. Many genres have risen and become kind of trendy but Bochka still remains underground

Thank you so much for accepting ECLYPSE’s invite, we are looking forward to promoting your music in the future on our label, we are honored to have you here!
