Today’s guest today’s guest is part of the techno warriors group that has been bringing quality industrial techno to Budapest for the past few years.
Some of them have already passed through, others will follow in the coming months.
He has recently thrown himself into production and produced two very impressive tracks, so we recommend you check him out after listening to his brutal set. If this day got off to a bad start, he’ll pick you up because he didn’t hold back while recording this one.
Welcome to CRIIM for the 32nd chapter of the ELYPSE INVITES Podcast series!
ECLYSE: What is your name, age, and where are you from?
My name is Benny, I’m 27 years young. I’m originally from Australia but living in Budapest, Hungary.

ECLYPSE: What inspired you to produce and when did you start?
I was always interested in music creation. I have been going to raves for a while and it all started in late 2021 when I tried out my close friend M_R_T’s DDJ-400 and instantly felt a connection to the art of mixing. Right after that first contact with a controller I got myself one as well and poured my time into it.
This year I have also started to produce which I find extremely rewarding and fun as it allows me to dive even deeper into this expressive artform and to build my own music from noises, sounds. I find it interesting to say the least
ECLYPSE: Who are the Producers and DJs you are looking the most up to?
We have so many talented artists based in Hungary. M_R_T, RE:VISION are two guys who have been really influential for me for many years and recently my friends (few of them in the GHOST collective we are a part of) too who have been already featured here at ECLYPSE.
Internationally I really want to highlight DRAAG, PAYN, GUTKEIN, Jack Yoda, ALYA7H, U H, Parapher, MMCCCXCIX, Yana Etc, ISOTRYK, BONEK, VØLK … there are so many it is impossible to list all …
ECLYPSE: What are your expectations for the rest of 2024?
There is not much time for many projects but I have two bigger ones, one which will be a GHOST VA , and secondly as a collective we are planning on having our first collaborated international event, so there will be news in the coming weeks 👀
ECLYPSE: Do you think Techno as a genre has evolved in the past years?
It has evolved so much, it feels way different from when I got involved a few years ago. Since it got so accessible for everyone, it is easier than ever to get a DJ deck and to start producing because there are so many sample packs and most artists are using the same ones for their production.
Also, there is a misunderstanding that faster = harder which is missing the point. But then, there are way more artists currently and from so many various countries. Music has opened the doors to so many countries, and connecting to like minded people from all over the world has never been easier. I will be forever thankful for music that allowed me to explore so many sounds, cultures, feelings and emotions though techno. It is truly magical.
ECLYPSE: How is your local DJ scene?
Our local scene is really rich and dynamic. We have so many talented artists based in our city and country. Internationally it is well known that we have really great events here from both local and international organisers.
In the past year there has been a shift towards showcasing upcoming artists, but this also resulted in not embracing the ones who have been carving the way so far for years. Also the clubs are really not representing the true underground identity and just focus on the potential business opportunity that comes with the huge interest for techno. This unfortunately brings in people who don’t respect and understand this scene to its core and thus making it uncomfortable for most of us.
I’m hopeful though for the future, there are some exciting projects we are working on at GHOST and also it’s great to see OSTROM coming in recently with a real understanding of what this should be all about in our city.
Thank you so much for accepting ECLYPSE’s invite, we are looking forward to promoting your music in the future on our label, we are honored to have you here!
