For the 31st chapter of the ECLYPSE INVITES Podcast series we welcome a DJ who goes by the name of DPPLGNGR. His approach to sets is very direct, he is not afraid to mix totally opposite and unusual elements, and he does not disdain playing with the tracks themselves by altering their structure mid-performance. Because the ultimate goal is to tell a story through creativity and this his best way to introduce himself
ECLYPSE: What is your name, age, and where are you from?
My name is Saygid (rus. Сайгид), also known as DPPLGNGR, and I am 29 years old. I was born in Dagestan, Russian Federation, but I’ve been living in Moscow for the last 11 years

ECLYPSE: What inspired you to produce/DJ and when did you start?
I started DJ-ing two years ago. By that time I had gained a lot of experience attending raves with different genres of electronic music. I wanted to play hard techno because at that time this direction seemed to me had potential for development, and I really loved the hard and brutal sound with a dark atmosphere. However, I felt the scene needed a different vision of hard techno so I started playing to try to enrich this space. The idea I want to convey is one where there is a will for any thought in perception, there is some abstraction, but at the same time there is a place for the DJ’s plan and he directs the crowd to it through his tracks.
In my set I wanted to share the atmosphere of Russian people and nations, the cultural heritage of Russia in the form of words from movies, books and Slavic folk songs and choirs (which can be heard in the insert with the homage to a great Russian composer: Prokofiev)
ECLYPSE: Who are the Producers and DJs you are looking the most up to?
The artists I admire the most are Vendex, Sub Imperium, Raxeller, Parapher, CEKTA and Gostwork
ECLYPSE: What are your expectations for 2025?
From a personal side, I will continue to develop my project, by improving as a producer. I am currently studying the basics of writing music and I am really enjoying it. I look forward to putting my new knowledge into practice and creating music. As for my expectations from the industry, I see the rise of hard techno in Europe, including even the rise of more underground sounds. I expect new sounds to emerge and new talents to be born
ECLYPSE: Do you think Techno as a genre has evolved in the past years?
Yes, I see it and I think it will continue evolving in the future as well. The development will take place both in the direction of more commercial techno and in the underground scene
ECLYPSE: How is your local DJ scene?
In Moscow and St. Petersburg bochka is quite popular. We have some artists who were essentially the discoverers of this special sound. It’s difficult to pinpoint who did it but I think artists like Draag, KYK, MSE and UH took inspiration from the German sound and turned it into something close to what we call now bochka. There is a devoted audience that comes regularly but there are also a lot of newcomers.
Thank you so much for accepting ECLYPSE’s invite, we are looking forward to promoting your music in the future on our label, we are honored to have you here!
