ECLYPSE INVITES: ØBLIVIØN

This one marks the end of and interesting month. A period of time we dedicated exclusively to one European country and that turned out to be quite fun. Today, for the 27th chapter of the ECLYPSE INVITES Podcast series, another very young Hungarian artists joins us.
He’s artistic name is ØBLIVIØN and you may know him as one of the residents of Overdose Records or through his various performances for D9.

ECLYPSE: What is your name, age, and where are you from?
My name is Dani Bujtor and I’m a 21-year-old DJ based in Budapest, Hungary

Western railway station in Budapest

ECLYPSE: What inspired you to produce and when did you start?
When I was little, my sister and I used to dream a lot about how cool it would be if we were DJs when we grew up.
We finally ordered our first controller in October 2020. I started my DJ career with my sister, but she eventually chose a different path and now I’m carrying out this project by myself.

ECLYPSE: Who are the Producers and DJs you are looking the most up to?
At the moment the artists I’m looking up to the most are: MMCCCXCIX, Gulag, G3ANXLN, MenaceAnnihilation, FARZÆD

ECLYPSE: What are your expectations for the rest of 2024?
The n.1 goal is to become a producer. After years of being only a DJ, a few months ago I started learning the basics of music production and honestly I enjoyed it. As a consequence, I’d love to turn it into something more serious

ECLYPSE: Do you think Techno as a genre has evolved in the past years?
At the moment I think it’s difficult to answer that, because we can clearly see how much Techno has become a sort of trend. But if we ignore this aspect, I think it’s definitely evolved in the last few years.
In my opinion, all styles within techno are constantly evolving and/or changing, which is not always to everyone’s liking. If you look at old Industrial tracks you will notice that, compared to the current tracks, they have a completely different structure and sound

ECLYPSE: How is your local DJ scene?
The short answer to this question is that, unfortunately, the artists who have the knowledge, skills and talent are not getting as many opportunities as they should. But I am confident that this will change over time.

Thank you so much for accepting ECLYPSE’s invite, we are looking forward to promoting your music in the future on our label, we are honored to have you here!
