For the 17th episode of ECLYPSE INVITES Podcast series we are bringing to you something different. No, the music will have the same effect on you, it will pierce your soul forcing you to stop doing whatever you are busy with and make that bass face we all know.
The novelty is the artist: Parsa is a DJ who plays under the pseudonym Pär Psy and today it is the character himself who will do the talking.
He is one of the people who most represents Eclypse’s message, where music is not just business and numbers but a tool to give voice to what we have inside, and to shield us against the obstacles that come from outside.
ECLYPSE: What is your name, age, and where are you from?
Hi everyone, my name is Pär Psy and I am a music enthusiastic afro monkey who was born in the unexampled underground techno scenes in 2020 where raving is regretfully unallowed!
ECLYPSE: What inspired you to start Djing and how were you born?
Let me tell you this story:
“I remember the first time I heard techno in a club! It was dark, gloomy, humid. My eyes could not select between the bodies moving rhythmically to the hard and fast electronic beat that were making my chest shake.
I just remember my eyes closing and letting everything go for the first time…”
After that overwhelming experience, I decided to start DJing with my own music taste and a combination of madness and peace as a therapy or whatever you call it, share it with others and invite listeners to experience and live it through my same feelings!
ECLYPSE: Who are the Producers and DJs you are looking the most up to?
Fortunately I found many people and friends along this way from whom I learned many things but I want to name only one person, “the count” Hræfn who is undoubtedly unique and is on top of my mind in the local and international scene.
ECLYPSE: Do you think Techno as a genre has evolved in the past years?
Absolutely yes. In my opinion, after the covid pandemic techno has entered a new era that I am fascinated by. It is much faster music with harsh sounds and dry kicks along with the groove and the noise that are often felt in bochka. This whole new combination completely engulfs me and I let it take control in my sets.
ECLYPSE: Could you describe your set for us and our listeners? What was the inspiration behind it?
As I said, finding peace in the chaos and finding a place in this madness is what inspires me to share my sets with others, and I also believe that we should push the limits and not reject our passions for it. Above all, creating something that is eternal is important to me, and music can be something that connects others and it can make this world more enjoyable.
In my set you will find this chaos translated into distorted heavy kicks, unexpected changes of pace, unsettling melodies and much more. Close your eyes like I did years ago and connect with my vision!
