ECLYPSE INVITES: ДУГАС

We are pleased to announce that DUGASZ from Budapest, Hungary has taken the 9th spot in the ECLYPSE Podcast series. He is a very talented artist which we wanted to showcase on our series since a long time ago, and the time has finally come!

As always, we’ve interviewed him so he can let the world know what ДУГАС is all about!

ECLYPSE: What is your name, age, and where are you from?

So for those who don’t know me, my name is Bence but I’m known in the scene as Dugasz. I live in Budapest, the capital of Hungary and I will be 22 this year.

ECLYPSE: What inspired you to produce and when did you start?

As a teenager I was fascinated by techno, culture and community. I felt I wanted to create something myself one day. I started practicing with a DJ controller in 2022, searching for my style, and it’s around now that I feel like I’ve been captivated by the BOCHKA style. About producing, I started to get into it this year.

ECLYPSE: Who are the Producers and DJs you are looking the most up to?

The ones I look up to the most are Parapher, MMCCCXCIX, KAHAN, WARFARE and DRAAG.

ECLYPSE: What are your expectations for 2024?

What I expect from 2024 is to hopefully debut in more places abroad, meet more amazing people, and make my first own track.

ECLYPSE: Do you think Techno as a genre has evolved in the past years?

I have mixed feelings about it, I think it has and has not improved. Personally, I’m not a fan of social media’s influence on the genre, but I think if you look in the right places you can find the real gems.

ECLYPSE: How is your local DJ scene?

As I see it, the industrial scene here in Budapest is pretty well established. Almost every week there is some kind of industrial techno party where we, the newcomers, get a chance to play. However, I must add that as a result there are a lot of us here who are into this style, and I’m sure the organizers have a hard time deciding who will be on the lineup for the weekend.
